Bleach has got to be the the one for you. It has comedy, action and the characters are all in high school. I have been reading the manga which you can find at most book stores and if you want to download them for free try www.bleach7.com. The series keeps getting better and better! You can watch it on Cartoon Network, but if you can find the uncut Japanese with English subtitles on Ebay I would highly recommend that instead. Good luck in your search.

fruits basket is the perfect choice!(for both anime and manga)
d.n angel is funny, sad yet romantic
kare kano, tho it's anime is mostly based on it's comedy the manga is just FULL of romance.
rave master is just too awesome.
(needless to say the guys are good-looking^^ in all animes)
