now when he sneezes or moves a certain way his side hurts really bad.....any ideas whats wrong? could it be bruises?

he didn't fall on anything that he knows of..and i didn't see anything either, landed hard on the floor..and landed on the right side when he fell.

Much like these answers, probably bruised himself so he's going to feel sore.

He could have just bruised himself, however there also is a possibility that he could have broken a rib or two.

At any rate, if he still has discomfort and it has been a couple of days already, he should definitely see a physician. The emergency room probably isn't neccessary, but a doctor's appointment would definitely be in order. The physician can better assess the injury and can take X-Rays if neccessary.

I'd say bruised ribs...I got beaten by 4 guys once and it took about 2 weeks to get the pain to go away..of course the doc said to rest..but rest is not an option with me.

Sounds like he could of cracked a rib! Get out the heating pad!

How did he fall? and how far? Did he land on any objects? Need more info to answer this.

Broken rib(s), pulled muscle(s), back injury. If it persist for a week, see a doctor.
