Throughout it's long and interesting history Greece has been at the crossroads of of trading and waring parties from every point of the compass.
Although there is a definitely a 'Mediterranean look' which you refer to, there are a variety of possibilities beside dark hair, dark eyes and olive skin. The descendants of your friend could have come from a number of places in Central and Northern Europe where Celtic features are still to be found, and have mixed with other tribal groups over the last 2 to 4 thousand years.

well, personally, i am half greek and have blonde/red hair and grey eyes. i could also pass for an albino, well not literally but ya get my point.
my fathers side if the family is irish, BUT it is my mothers side, the pure blood greeks, who have a straight line of women with red hair and blue eyes. the men also have some red, but mostly in the facial hair.
they are from an island north of the coast of turkey,
so dont call me macedonian.
so yes, it is very possible

My mother is 100% Greek. She has the darker hair and eyes, while her sister is a "golden Greek" and had blonde hair and lighter eyes. I look more like my aunt, with the lighter coloring, (I have blonde hair and green eyes), and my cousins (my aunt's children), look more like my mom with dark hair and eyes!

6 ft tall (with 2" heel boots on) athletic (beer gut; probably smells like a locker room) darkish hair (armpits and underpants, he's bald on properly) blue eyes (probably... so he can say he's being honest) you could not even truly believe %., they could be years previous..... and on the grounds that each and every guy on right it is wondering it, i am going to assert it: we've a similar difficulty with the way the girls persons describe themselves........
