Being liberal is all about contradictions. Just so you know, the unions may favor democrats, but not all union members!

I'm a dem, and I am NOT for illegal immigration. Repubs. aren't much better w/ their guest worker crap.
RC--it's not just taxing them I am worried about...it's about driving down wages of the lowest paid Americans (and eventually the middle class), it's about the influx of disease's from the 3rd world which are making a resurgence in the US (leprosy, TB, polio, malaria, hepatits--even bedbugs!) FYI 1 out of 7 east asian immigrants are carriers of Hep B, it's encouraging an illegal activity, it's only going to create a greater divide b/w the rich and poor--further polarizing the US which will cause greater instability.
Is that enough for you? Educate yourself.

Follow the money. Look at the political contributions that are being made with union dues that are extorted from union members who now have to answer to the union bosses in addition to their real bosses.

well... first the democrats aren't for helping illegals... some are, some aren't... just like some republicans are pro-illegal...
it's a very divided issue...
but, regardless of immigration either way, Democrats traditionally have done much more for unions than Republicans have... thus they are pro-democrat...
you're probably never going to find a party that you agree with all the time... but democrats usually agree with the union much more than republicans...

Who says the democrats are for illegal. Wow wake up and smell the coffee. This is not a party divide issue. This is an individual issue. President Bush himself has come out as pro!!!! Last I checked he was a republican.

Because union leadership tends to be uninformed and misguided. The usual MO for a liberal Dem.

The democratic party has become way too "pc". Unions are outdated. The party loves to contradict itself.
