Recently, my desktop crashed (via Blue Screen of Death) and now i am forced to reformat my hard drive. i was able to use my hard drive as a slave to another computer, but wasn't able to access files on the administrator's account because of the password. is there anyway i can retrieve the files on the administrator's account?

If you're using the other drive as a slave and you have full access to the PC you're working on, you may need to take ownership of the other drive.

Go to the folder on the other drive which has your files in it.

Right Click on it and choose "Sharing and Security"

On the Tabs on the top, choose "Security"

You may need to add yourself to use it. Click the "Add" button and find the Administrative (I am guessing you're that person) user and select it.

It is easier then to highlight it and below, click on every box so you have full rights and permissions.

yes, try geo guys suggestion first!

or,
learn linux - boot to a linux cd and mount the drive, you should then be able to see and therefore copy the files needed into an unprotected folder - then load your regular OS and you should find the files needed in their new location even though u still wont be able to access them via the admin's folders - need more clarification - email me - otherwise do a bit o research with google
