Do you mean zebra danios?

Or is it something else? There are lots of "zebra" fish but I'm going to guess its a danio :)

Anyway, they are prolific breeders. They are somewhat unique among little schoolers, as they are quite loyal theirs mates... Pairs remain together.

If you have a community tank, the fry are likely to be eaten, just fyi.

Temp should be 78F. They will drop their 300-500 eggs over the gravel, it'll fall between the rocks and the eggs will safe from the hungry parents... You should remove all the other fish from the tank, including the parents - they will eat the fry.

The fry will hatch in two days. They are very tiny, and can easily be lost when changing water, so take care when maintaining the grow-out tank. Feed the young commercially prepared fry food, or finely crushed dry foods. Powdered egg may also be added to the fry food to promote growth.

Good luck with the babies!

Basically, if you have zebrafish, you have eggs all over your tank. They breed just about every morning. The females get bigger stomachs when they are really ready to lay, but they will lay before this if they are in a mixed sex tank. The males will generally be slimmer and more golden, and they strut around more. When the females don't feel like they are getting enough attention, they chase the males.

The easiest way to breed zebrafish is the first paragraph below: mortality is fairly high, but it is really easy - I have done it this way several times.

Just siphon the gravel with a gravel vacuum. Let the water sit in a bucket for a day or two, and you will see little black lines about 2-3mm long against the lower sides of the bucket. Now siphon off some of the excess grunge from the bottom and place a sponge filter in there. You can feed the babies finely powdered normal fish food. Mix it with water and drop it in randomly with an eyedropper once they start to swim around. After they are ~1/4-3/8" long you can put them in a "net breeder" in the adult tank and when they are ~1/2-3/4" long you can place them in with the adults.

For more controlled breeding you want to select the particular male and female and isolate them in a (sponge) filtered tank with marbles on the bottom. After leaving them for a day or two (or once you see eggs) remove the parents and raise the fry as above.

To get the fry to grow faster and healthier, you really need live food cultures like microworms or vinegar eels, then brine shrimp nauplii when they are bigger.

It is fun to watch them grow up.

OMG sure!!! I completely agree! i'm attempting to change right into a healthcare professional, ok? So for sure i imagine that being pregnant is the purely right time period. Prego sounds like pasta sauce and preggers sounds like a sickness....both easily one of that haven't to any extent further something to do with pregnacies! anyhow, CONGRATS!!!! i'm particular think about a captivating, healthful infant. best of needs!!!

I'm not sure which fish zebra fish are as it's not a full name. Possibly zebra danio if it's freshwater. In any case they don't get pregnant only molly, guppy, platty, swordtail get pregnant. The rest lay eggs which are fertilized by the male. If you fish are getting big tummies it's likely dropsy, or over feeding.
