Bridesmaid huh? And the Yankees would be the bride. Bride of the gorilla maybe. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0043360/ The Yankees still have the biggest payroll in baseball and have not won in this millenium, so whine on, cry on, move on.

Let's see, the Red Sox paid $51.1 MILLION just for the rights to Matsuzaka, and $52 MILLION to sign him. Also, they are going to sign the overrated J.D. Drew for $70 Million.
In contrast the Yankees dumped Gary Sheffield and his $13 million, dumped Jaret Wright and his contract, and signed Mussina to a smaller deal. Also at the end of this season, Johnson and his $16 million, Mussina and his $10 million, and Posada and his $10-$11 million come off the books, as their contracts expire. It looks like the payrolls are getting very close! Boston is catching up! Now that Cashman is in charge, he is working to dump some of the high-salaried, washed up stars, and the farm system is beginning to produce again (Cano, Wang, Cabrera).
Yes, the Yankees did sign Pettitte for $16 million, and bid $26 Million for the rights for the other Japanese pitcher, but that is not nearly what the Red Sox have spent. Yes, the Yankees have a much larger payroll at the moment, but Boston fans should be glad, it hides the fact that theirs is enormous as well! In a year from now, they could be even! I just love the fact that EVERY move Boston makes is out of fear of the Yankees. I think they realize their wild-card aided W.S.win of '04 was a fluke and that they still can't beat us out for the division.
I love how everyone seems to think Boston's rotation is going to be the best in baseball. Matsuzaka has never pitched here, Schilling is 40, fat, and his ERA approached 4.00 last year, and he was awful the last month of the season, finishing with 220 hits in 204 innings and 28 homers allowed. Beckett had an ERA of 5.01 with 36 HR allowed in 204.1 innings, Wakefield was 7-11, 4.63, and no one knows how Papelbon's shoulder will hold up, or how he will do as a starter. I think their staff is very iffy.
Yes, Yes, Yes, the Yankees haven't won this century, you've pretty much hammered that point home. However,we know what the glory feels like, and we will feel it again!

I totally agree with you. They act like they are these big under dogs. They have the second highest pay roll in baseball. They just spend there money trying to catch the Yankees. That's why the fail more often than not. While on the other hand. The Yankees spend to win Championships. Number 27 is coming in 2007. Go Bombers. The Evil Empire will once again crush the rebel Red Sox.

Hey Yankee Fans:
1. Dice-K was an investment. His salary will be covered from Japanese revenue. If Yankee fans could develop an IQ over 7, they would realize that.
2. The only reason the 2004 Redsox had the highest WS payroll is because the Yankees cant win it!
3. Sox had highest WS payroll, but guess what? Yankees had highest payroll total! The highest WS payroll in 2004 was about 30m less than the Yankees.
4. The sox keep on spending to catch up to the Yankees? Wrong. Thats whats wrong with you Yankee fans. Your ego blinds you. The Sox won two years ago, it's been six since you've gone close. So shut up and wake up Yankee fans, its 2006, quit living in the past.
5. In 2007, if you took the Yankees payroll and subtracted the Redsox payroll from it, you would have enough money to pay the Florida Marlins payroll for 4 years.
I just owned every single Yankee fan in the country without stooping to their pathetic level. I win.

First off, there isn't a question in there. . .
Second, I am not a Red Sox fan, but I HATE the Yankees, and will always root against the Yankees.
Third - add up the payrolls. Bet the Cranks still have the larger payroll overall. . . So I guess they are the best team money can buy.

Did you know that the most expensive team to win a world series was the '04 Red Sox? Sox fans haven't been able to talk sh** about Yankees' spending for two years now. And it appears they keep on spending.

Hmmm..0 for 6 and still talking nonsense, has A-Rod seen his therapist this week? Maybe Giambi could lend him a set of works for some steroid therapy. How about some math..add up Andy Pettite's arm injuries, subtract Sheffield and Randy[washed up] Johnson and figure an 0 for 7!

The Red Sox hate the Yankees so much that they are willing to sell their soul to the devil to beat them. And I think they just did! Mr Moto will get lit up like a roman candle when he comes to NY.
