We were going to originally go to The Melting Pot at Station Square, but at in upwards of $40 per couple, that is way our of our price range...we were going to go because fondue is such a fun retro activity and definitely not something we have everyday...so, if you could suggest a restaurant that is central to the city that has interestingly different food...we all love multikulti cuisine, so that should be a good start. Remember those 10pts are up for grabs!!

I've got two answers. They are right next door to each other in the hip and happenin' South Side.

1) Mallorca Restaurant: This is a great Spanish restaurant. Okay, the decor is kind of lugubrious, but in a charming, Old World sort of way, and the food is delicious. In addition to their regular menu, they've usually got about 6 to 10 specials, which are always interesting and tasty. You can meet your under $20 per person goal depending on what you get.

2) Ibiza Tapas and Wine Bar: If you want something a little lighter, a little funkier, and a little more modern, try the Ibiza Tapas and Wine Bar next door. Their small plates are amazing (I recommend the sea scallops in mango sauce!) and they've got a great wine list. (It's not just Spanish wines either, although they've got an excellent selection of those. I actually had a great South African flight of wines there once, too.) It should be easy to meet your under $20 per person goal here.

One word of caution, parking on a Friday or Saturday night is horrendous. Take public transit or a cab, or cough up the $7 (or whatever it is) for the valet parking at Mallorca.

Have fun!

If you really want something different try the Church Brew Works. Not as pricey as the Melting Pot, but really good food from an establishment that has been featured on television. Another spot would be Fatheads. More of a college crowd but great chicken wings.

inspect a keep referred to as "beverages and bigger". also commonly referred to as "Bev Mo" This position is wonderful! you'll locate many large wines lower than $20 per bottle. i'm hoping one is close to the position you stay!
