I was on Zoloft for 2 months. I experienced a side-effect, the inability to ejaculate, so my doctor switched me to another anti-depressant. How long will it take for the side-effect to wear off?

Of all of the SSRI meds, Zoloft has one of the shortest discontinuation recovery periods. Shouldn't take more that two weeks. However, don't be surprised if the new meds have the same side effect of the Zoloft. You may have to try several different kinds of anti-depresant medication before you find the right one. Be patient.

And, be sure that you are working with a competent psychiatrist that knows what s/he is doing. Often, general practitioners just keep throwing samples at you to see what will work or not work. I hope you don't have one of those. Depression is serious and requires that you work with a trained individual that specializes in it. It is also very helpful to have a good counseling psychologist working in tandem with your psychiatrist or doctor. Good luck.

6 months to a year to fully go away, but towards the end what you are really experiencing are withdrawal symptoms not side-effects.
