Define Democracy? You should be able to vote for who you believe in and be able to say what you want, freedom of speech.

Democracy may allow it, but it's hypocritical.

I'm talking about any democratic country, I'm in Britain and we're just as bad as America trying to force our political views on another country and as we can see, it's not working.

Well first of all the United States of America is not a Democracy.
It is a Constitutional Republic.
(a government of laws)
But I agree that we should take care of things at home instead of trying to "free" other despot countries.
Especially Muslim countries because they don't know what to do with freedom.
The people will simply fall in line back of some wild eyed weird beard "holy" man, and things will go right back to the way the were to begin with.
It is a complete waste of time and resources.

a country has a right to protect its self. We dont just attack and force "democracy" on any country we do it to countries that pose a threat to us and the rest of the world. We have aloud many, many other countries to stay the way they are not being like us but they have showed an ability to be stable and non confrontational.
Now we dont force our way of govt on anyone after we remove those said dangerous govts. we allow the people to pick what they want but we will not let that said govt go back to be another danger or worse. We are protecting the newly elected govt of Iraq and letting them dictate what they want in their political beliefs.
Now The hard facts... somebody has to be the big brother of this world. When there is no leader representing good that leaves a void of leadership that can be taken by the bad. We tried to do this with the UN but they messed that up from day one. There has to be an oversight in todays world that helps protect the everyday citizen of the earth from a person that has bad intentions. Think of it like a play ground. If there was no chaperons the bad kids would pick on the rest of the kids and somebody will end up getting hurt. This is an over simplification but it is the basics that you should understand.

Why not? Democracy only applies to the citizens of your country. It may not be right to force democracy on others, but I don't see how it in any way violates our democracy. In a direct democracy you can for for whatever you want. you could vote to force democracy on another country, or even vote to make it illegal for a minority to express their opinion. We, however have a representative republic in which we elect leaders to make decisions for us, but they can still do whatever they want, and it isn't any less of a democracy.

The Kurds had fought against Sadam for decades. They make up over half of all Iraqi's, and they overwhelmingly want democracy. The U.S. helped free them from the tyranny of Sadam. We have not 'forced' democracy on them. In fact, they drafted, and voted for, their own constitution.
