PROBLEM 1:
The factors of 9 are 1, 3, 9 so it is either going to be (m ... )(9m... ) or (3m ... )(3m ....)

Let's guess (3m ... )(3m ... )

Now the factors of 25 are 1, 5, 25... a simple check shows that you can get the middle number with 5 and 5, but they must be negative...
(3m - 5)(3m - 5) = 0

So m = 5/3

PROBLEM 2:
Get everything on the left, then solve.

2y² + 4y - 8 = - (y² + y)

Add y² + y to both sides:
3y² + 5y - 8 = 0

Factor:
(3y ... )(y ... )

Looks like 8 and -1 will work:
(3y + 8)(y - 1) = 0

So your answers are:
y = -8/3 or y = 1

9m^2 -30m + 25 =0
(3m-5)^2
m=5/3

2y^2 + 4y - 8=-y^2 + y
3y^2+3y-8=0
y=(-3+/-√(9+4*3*8))/6
y=(-3+/-√105)/6
y=-1/2+√105 /6
y=-3-√105 /6

1. (3m-5)(3m-5)
2. (2y-2)(1y+4)=y^2+y
