What purpose does the Intel (R)Extreme Graphics have.?

I uninstalled it and wondered what harm I might have done.Thanks

That's just software for the graphics chipset built-in to your motherboard. If you have a separate video card, it's not required. If you don't have an add-in video card, Windows will probably just automatically reinstall the drivers when you restart.

The Extreme Graphics just allows more features in the detail of your graphics such as color size and effects of the picture.
