Because we are stupid, vain, arrogant, vindictive, immature, morons. We get used to throwing away everything in life so why not our marriages. We think only of ourselves and not of the family unit. An argument starts and we run instead of confronting the problem. Or, we get greedy and want something better. The old grass is greener on the other side of the fence, scenario. We are married for 10 years, see a cute little butt and go after it. Knowing that all our work on our relationship (that's what love is!) is being thrown away for a short fling. This is insanity huh?

There is a multitude of reasons why people end up getting a divorce. As we grow up we change as people. As a married couple or even in relationships we may grow together or we may grow apart. Growing apart is usually why marriages end. People who were once compatible are no longer compatible. It's usually best though for two people to recognise that it's not working and part ways rather than try to stay together an make it work and in turn just hurting themselves and those around them. It's a very mature and difficult thing accepting that your marriage is over but in the long run it's usually best for everyone once everyone can move on.

I see a multitude of good answers posted here. They are for the most part true and valid reasons why people get divorced. Another reason to consider is that parents are supposed to be good role models for their children. If they are stuck together in a relationship that lacks love, this does not serve as a good model of a marriage for their kids. If an incompatible man and woman stayed married, their children would acquire a distorted perception of a good marriage. It is much better that they end the marriage, giving each other the opportunity to find partners that they can fall in love with and become good role models for their children.

I did because it was either get away from him and get divorced or die, but that was my situation. I have talked with other friends who have divorced and most because they just weren't getting along. they grew apart. It really depends on the parents, but just remember the parents may divorce eachother, but they never divorce their kids. Sometimes it is for the better, especially if there is a lot of fighting.

I think most marriages fail because they were not of God to start with. If people would realize that God has someone for everyone and be more patient on finding them the world would not even know what a divorce is.

Because they drift away from each other what they once had is gone so they divorce hoping for a new start but they split up knowing that they did do one thing right and that is their kids.

Honey, that is terrible and even God hates it!! But it happens when two adults dont love eachother like before. But one thing is for sure, they never stop loving their kids. Though mom and dad cant be together, they try to make the best decisions about their kids. Sometimes, dads have to go very far and mom has to stay with the kids for a while or even mom goes and dad stays with the kids. But its never the kids fault.

People change, or sometimes get into a marriage that they didn't realize was wrong for them. It's just one of those sad things that happen.

Honey, it's for the BEST when they do, and it has nothing to do with the kids. They just don't fit well together anymore, they've grown apart and it's not healthy for them to remain together anymore. People change.

they get bored, they start hating each other, neither of them has enough money, one of them wants way more sex than the other, one of them wants sex with somebody else, reasons like that mostly
its really a good thing when people have some options, even it seems like it isn't
