Um.. I don't think so, but it's unclear if you are really using the term "illegal" correctly. I suppose it's illegal if you are dating a minor.

Depending on which way. If your "legal" past 18 and dating 3yrs older than you. That's fine. But lets just say your 17 and dating a 14year old then yes illegal and wrong. Nothing wrong with being friends. Its allot worse if its a Guy they can get Jail time if they are sleeping together it comes under statuary rape.

It depends on the age. If your 18 and the other person is 15 well yes. But 20 versus 23 ok.

If you and the person you are dating are both above the age of legal concent, then NO you're fine.

If one of you is a legal minor and the other a legal adult, then you have a problem, especially if your parents or your partner's parents are opposed to your relationship. If they're cool with it, then there's probably not a problem.

My son is eightteen and his girlfriend is sixteen, but they have both been dating for two and a half years now since he was fifteen and she was fourteen. They are very happily committed to one another and both her parents and I are completely ok with them dating.

As long as the two parties are consenting adults, it's fine.
