My period came early, and I skipped my pill ... AM I COVERED?

My period came in the middle of my third week of pills. I just skipped my last four pills. Then I had sex on the week I'm supposed to ahve my period. Am I still covered for that week?

I had sex on that week. Should I take a morning after pill?
AM I PREGNANT?

Your period arrived early so you skipped the last four sugar pills? If so, you're okay.

If you skipped the last four active pills, and then took the sugar pills after those four days - meaning that you had 11 days of no active pills, then you are NOT COVERED!

Never stop the active pills just because you are having breakthrough bleeding - if you get bleeding sooner than you should, keep taking the pills, and talk to your doctor about changing to a stronger pill.

If you miss more than one active pill, then you need to use condoms until you have had seven days of active pills in a row. If you miss a pill in the week before your period, then you need to skip your next period and go straight on to a new pack.

If you are on the right dosage then the pills will dictate when you get bleeding, don't stop taking the active pills even if you are bleeding.

Just to repeat - never skip the active pills. You can skip as many sugar pills as you like;

Not if you weren't on your period.... Always stick to the pills.. If your menstrating, take the fake pills.... then, once your off... no matter what day it is, take the real pills. Don't skip them if you aren't on your period. Otherwise, your body won't learn what day to stop and start.
