"Marriage Is Already Open to Everyone--
In the first place, no law in any state in the United States now or ever has forbidden homosexuals to marry. The law has never asked that a man prove his heterosexuality in order to marry a woman, or a woman hers in order to marry a man.
Any homosexual man who can persuade a woman to take him as her husband can avail himself of all the rights of husbandhood under the law. And, in fact, many homosexual men have done precisely that, without any legal prejudice at all.
Ditto with lesbian women. Many have married men and borne children. And while a fair number of such marriages in recent years have ended in divorce, there are many that have not.
So it is a flat lie to say that homosexuals are deprived of any civil right pertaining to marriage. To get those civil rights, all homosexuals have to do is find someone of the opposite sex willing to join them in marriage. Taken from; "http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1085236/posts

C-man, first half, totally off. Second half, right on. You understood the argument against their propoganda on this issue. Notice all the "homophobe" name-calling and personal attacks instead of any sane reasonings against this article? I hope and pray none of them run for judge or sherriff in your counties!!

The person asking this question didn't say that if a gay didn't want to marry someone of the opposite sex just that they have all the rights to get married and receive the benefits of marriage.
I totally agree with the statement. Yes, I did read the article that the provided link goes to. I have said the same exact thing. If they want the same rights they can get married anytime they want to.
And before any try to label me as a homophobe forget it I have gays on my wife's side of the family and we do associate with them and have no problems.
Also if you want to push the gay agenda and say how good it is just look at history especially the Greek and Roman Empires. They allowed open homosexuality and look what happened to their societies. About the only advantage I have seen for homosexuality is the population control it would offer. Two gays can not produce children on their own without outside intervention. That is what marriage is all about producing and nurturing children to continue the population.

And as a heterosexual, would you be satisfied if marriage were limited to same-sex pairings, but no law prevented you from finding a woman to marry? Would that be a satisfactory environment for you to live as a family, if you couldn't marry a man?

For Crux, the point she makes is that homosexuals aren't legally prevented from gaining the benefits of marriage- the argument has nothing to do with love, commitment or personal satisfaction.

Uh the point is that they want to marry someone of the same sex and so this argument is really ridiculous. I have several gay friends that have managed to stay in a relationship longer than my straight friends some of which have been married several times already and they are only in their mid 20's. Personally I think you should be able to marry who you want as long as they are consenting adults. I feel awful for my best friend that he can't marry the man he wants the way I was able to.

to assert "christian marriage" is ignoring the actuality that the rustic is made up of folk of various religions and atheist perspectives. to assert purely the "Christian marriage" is actual skill everyone who marries in an Islam marriage, Hindu marriage or as civil non - religious ceremony, is for this reason incorrect. To base a regulation of marriage on Christian view of marriage altogether ignore appropriate to the multitudes of folk and their ideals that stay in lots of international locations. that's why faith and politics shouldn't combination.

My thoughts about the matter is simply this: God created man and woman and for it to be legal for men to marry men and women to marry women is like mocking what Our Creator does not approve of. I can't put anyone in Heaven or Hell but we all have a choice to do the right thing and the choice we make in life will affect us for the rest of our lives. Most of society could careless if men married men and vice versa. I'm not judging anyone because I'm not the judge or juror come time for the rapture. All I can do is pray for their souls and pray that God have mercy upon them.

God gave people free will and they are free to choose and do what they want. Also this is America the land of the free or so they say. So people just need to mind their own bussiness and let others live as they choose to, granted as long as they are not serial killers. But if aguy wants to have a dick up his *** is his choice. I know it wouldnt be mine. So let people do with their lives as they please in the end we all will pay for what we do on earth.

So what's the problem with that ?? Personally l agree with Marie, no-one has the right to discriminate against another person because of their sexuality choices. Love is love it doesn't matter how you put it !! Everyone should have the same rights regardless of sexuality, colour or race. That's my opinion anyway !!

That is the most retarded thing ive ever heard...

Engage the brain before you engage the keyboard.

Words really cant describe the stupidity you just showed.

Theyre gay, they dont want to marry a woman. So why would they?

Personally, I see no reason why "gays" should not marry. Who am I to tell an adult person that they cannot be married to the person they love and want to spend the rest of there lives with.

seriously... i mean- seriously? did you post that and believe it?? clearly that is completely not the issue- not to mention how unfair it would be for a family of a gay man or woman... all the secrets and lies- or worse still the flat out in the open slap in the face to the whole idea of marriage?!

I happened upon this site by chance this afternoon and got sucked in to the community aspect of it.... i have to throw it out there that i joined specifically to corrispond with you/ this poster.
i am a christian. i'm not really sure where to begin with this but as i hinted to above i've been thinking a lot about community lately and how disjointed so many of us really are..... dear poster with the utmost respect i think perhaps you should consider re-evaluating your stance... you come across as some one bent on pointing out other's faults and segragating.
he who is free of sin may cast the first stone.... i agree that homesexuality is a sin but all sins are equal in God's eyes.... lieing to murder. you seem so fervent about this matter it's almost hard to take you seriously- again no offence, but as your sister in christ i say that in love... singularity of purpose seems to have clouded your judgement. instead of pointing out how terrible and wrong perfect strangers are b/c of the way they live thire life perhaps you should befriend them and teach by good example? it is neither your place or mine to judge anyone else, only His. it IS our place to love one another.... i really feel like that needs to be said again...IT IS OUR PLACE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER. you don't need to worry about pointing out everyone's faults to his neighbor because thats something he and God will deal with. i'm all for spreading the good news but if you're too abrasive you're just going to turn people away from you and maybe God for a little while in turn- let him do His work and you focus on what he is saying to you and what he wants from you instead of trying to push buttons for the sake of causing contention.

a few short last things... God hates the SIN not the sinner...
you don't have to say you hate something to show you do- you asked a few times for proof of christians hating homosexuals.... how about the homossexual people who are killed or mamed "in the name of the Lord" dudes, thou shall not kill is a pretty big one on my list- murder is murder whatever the reason, am i wrong???
also- EVERYTHING happens for a reason... these folks are gay for a reason... perhaps to get us too look at how we're treating eachother?

and finally i don't mean to put myself above you or anyone else here because Lord knows i've made my mistakes... but i'm all the more greatful for friends who help me step back and look at what i'm doing to myself and other people. we're all gonna sin... only jesus was perfect... it's all part of the design- we don't have to understand it we just have to have faith in it... sorry this is really long, you've made me think about this all day.
