i know many women who have done it with no complications to their pregnancies. infact, i once had a midwife tell me "off the record" that if the woman were to "smoke" or drink, that the smoke would do less harm (if any) to the baby. so many women smoke a pack or more a day (of cigarettes (duh)), but you said you haven't smoked any. one time is going to hurt your baby less than smoking cigarettes on a regular basis. also, from what i have heard (from my ob, i asked) they don't do pregnancy studies on how marijuana effects a fetus, since it's illegal to do so. so there isn't any scientific proof that it's harmful, especially if it's only once.

A tiny, tiny bit?

"Sarah V" has your answer...

You didn't mention what you might be smoking in it, but:

"There were no significant differences between exposed and nonexposed neonates on day 3. At 1 month, the exposed neonates showed better physiological stability and required less examiner facilitation to reach organized states. The neonates of heavy-marijuana-using mothers had better scores on autonomic stability, quality of alertness, irritability, and self-regulation and were judged to be more rewarding for caregivers."

no no no no no dont smoke ANYTHING while your pregnant! or drink! or do any drugs of any kind! you'll harm the baby! also, you'll be getting a lot of second hand smoke at the hookah lounge so if possible, dont go at all...maybe you can meet up with them before or after. think of it as saving your baby!

don't smoke anything while you're pregnant! your baby smokes if you do. you shouldn't even be in the same room as a smoker.

Absolutely not. Smoking of any kind is unhealthy and unfair to your baby who does not have a choice in the matter when you absorb the multitude of chemicals into your bloodstream through your lungs then pass them on through the placenta.

Think about that.
