What are the risks in uniting people aginst a common enemy?

Remember " In unity their is strength" ? what would be the Risk? failure to try!!

As soon as the common enemy is defeated, the armed groups will turn on each other and a civil war will follow.

there is always a risk in untying people. once untied they tend to bond and attack a common enema
