Well you are Johnny Reb right? In a way I am too. In my home county in Tennessee my family fought with some of the best rebel infantry regiments and at least one Calvary, The 10th Tennessee CSA Calvary, with Forrest. One of his most effective regiments. They also had some pretty brutal and effective Federal units from it. A lot of things happened back and forth, big scale, and a little more personal. Like home grown. So you should have some idea of fighting over land, a civil war.
