The guy's very coordinated and smooth, and you can tell he knows how to move his body! So how come he just looks so dorky? Is it because of poor choreography? Or because his appearance isn't that hot?
What if a really sexy, scantily clad woman was doing these exact same moves?
What if a really tough, gangsta-type guy was doing these exact same moves? He'd probably look really cool doing it!
How come? Are looks everything? Can you look cool dancing even if you don't have a "cool" tough-guy or sexy look to you?

It is called the EXPRESSION that makes the difference. That is, with dancing you express yourslef. If one is a dork, his dancing looks dorky. It doesn't matter so much what moves or steps does he do. It's not just the looks. It's what's on the inside.
What makes one look like a dork? I don't mean glasses or stupid t-shirt. That's all easy to change in a second, and that wouldn't make much of a difference. What really strikes you as an an observer are certain tensions in the body that are typical. If I watch this guy carefullly what strikes me first is tense facial expression. What strikes me next is tense chest and center of his body. And the last one - inhibited arm movement. It is possible to learn to relax the center and then to use it differently. Arms are also possible to learn. It turn, if he changes all that that he'll probably feel like he's a different person when he's dancing.

you cant be serious. Napolean Dynamite is a Dork caracter, he isn't supposed to look cool. sexy, scantily clad women, do you mean strippers? they only bounce their tender bits, that's not dancing. and tough gangsta-types don't dance, they pull up their pants and do the "rock away"

Well sometimes people just have a natural rhtyhm and i can mess up on dance moves but i have the ability to dance so i can pull it off. It just has to flow!! u know!!!!

looks are part of it, and it has something to do with some natural talent... and sometimes it just is the choreagraphy... haha this is a good question though, i often wonder the same thing!
