animal cells contain centrioles and uses spindle fibres from these to seperate and divide chromosomes.

Plant cells have no centrioles and rely on calcium plates to divide the cell

Cytokinesis in animal cells involves the cells simply pinching in two. In plant cells a cell plate forms in the centre of the cell and forms a new cell wall.

During animal cell cytokinesis, the cell divides outside to inside.
During plant cell cytokinesis, the cell divides inside to outside.
