I dont know what the plant is, but...if the fossil was found on another continent, as well as tasmania.. that would mean that at one time, those 2 landmasses were connected in a way, in which the animal (or plant) that made the fossil would not have to cross a major body of water....
SO... if a fossil was found in, for example, the USA, and also was found in Tasmania, that evidence would support the theory that those two landmasses were once connected, because that animal (or plant) would have been able to get to both places.

according to the website above, the fossil was of a giant conifer, which someone named Fitzroya tasmanensis. The genus is found today growing in Chile. The suggestion is that Fitzroya forests once grew in both places, because they were part of the same continent...but later died out in Tasmania.

And here's an article about another fossil plant found in Tasmania , a fern called Lophosoria quadripinnata, that is extinct everywhere but South America. More evidence that the two continents were connected.

Here's another website that talks about another Tasmanian tree (still living) called Nothfagus, that have been found as fossils in Antarctica, in strata about 35 million years old, about the time that Tasmania and Antarctica split.

Wowwwww, it is a ghost. Oh wait, you can buy that mask from smiffys the joke shop. Atheists demand evidence, because most of our claims have SCIENTIFIC evidence, theists' evidence are just obvious theorys, with no actual evidence. If there is scientific evidence that God really does exist, be my guest and show me! No disrespect to theists, it is just my opinion.
