if the question mark is just a typo then I would agree with 37, otherwise if it's a variable then assuming you are trying to get it equal to 0, the question mark would equal -(7/30)

Whats the question mark? A variable? If not..30 + 12 - 5... 37?

30x +12 -5 = 10
First of all, you know you have to find x. So your goal is to get x alone on one side of the equal sign. To do this, you must remember the rule of "whatever you do to one side, you must also do to the other side."
Step one: Simplify the left side. This means do whatever math you can. 30x +12-5 simplifies to 30x+7
Why? Because we -5 from the 12.
Now we have 30x +7 = 10
Subtract 7 from both sides.
30x=7-7=10-7
30x=3
We still have to get the x by itside, so we have to get rid of that pesky 30. Because it is multiplying the x, we do the opposite and divide. But whateve we do to the 30, we also have to do to the other side of the equation.
30/30x = 3/30
x=3/30, which reduces to 1/10
To see if we got the problem right, put the 1/10 in where your ? is.
[(5x6)1/10] + 12 -5 =10
30/10=3
So 3+12 -5 =10
15-5 = 10
Yippee!!
