People in which the homosexual gene is dominant are more likely to demonstrate homosexual behavior than those in which the the homosexual gene is suppressed;
However, a dominant homosexual gene does not guarantee homosexuality, and a suppressed homosexual gene does not guarantee heterosexuality.
At the end of the day, it's all about choices. Homosexual people usually choose to be that way because they are persecuted from an early age by latent homosexuals overcompensating for their own dishonesty in masquerading as straight people.

Does it matter that you love some one of the same sex?.
Should there be a reason?
Does it matter if one is born gay or becomes gay due to the free society, the environment, the taboos, hate (& hates), loves, the friendships, relationships narrow-mindedness and the broad-mindedness etc which is influencing our lives at every moment..
Is it because some religions, and some people and some societies are against it.
Who decides what is the best for a society at any given age or time- the influential people such as the leaders, the rich, the powerful rulers and politicians, the priests, the press.

How does some one know they are straight? It is just as simple for us gay people. And why don't you believe that people are born gay when we have so much scientific data backing that claim? Do you have any data to back up the statement that people are not born gay? It is really easy to stand outside and judge people, but you will not understand what it means to be gay if you are not gay.

When someone is attracted to the same gender, that is a good indication that they are. And you are right you aren't BORN gay, it happens to be in the genes, so it is determined well before the child is born.
I.E. One does not just wake up one day and say "Oh, I think I will be gay..." It is genetic. There is scientific evidence to back it up...I will place a link or 18 on here shortly.

not sure about the "born Gay" issue, but people who are Trans Gendered are born that way. It deals with the "Heat Pattern" in the human Brain. As for some one "Thinking that they are gay", well, that is there sexual prefferance, and to each there own

Personally I knew in grade school when I was attracted to another boy in my class.
I knew it was something, but I didn't know what. just that it was there.
then when other boys talked about girls and their body parts, it didn't appeal to me at all.
I knew when I liked taking a shower after gym class. I still didn't know what to call it.
I knew when I was fascinated by the male in a male/female picture.
I knew when someone asked me what I liked best about a picture of Adam and Eve in paradise and I said Adam.
Whatever you believe, I know that being gay was something in my genes and I was born with it. I didn't chose it. How could I have chosen to be attracted to another boy in grade school?

Who we are is pretty much set by the time we are five. And although we may not be "born gay" there is a decidedly genetic factor in being gay.
People are think they are gay because they find they are more attracted [physically, mentally and emotionally] to members of the same sex just like heterosexual people are to members of the opposite sex.

I knew I was straight from the get-go: I clearly remember having heterosexual thoughts before I was able to walk. I was able to walk unassisted at 9 months.
On the other hand, I'm a guy -- which means I was attracted to women. Women are generally much more attractive to the eye than men, so maybe that had something to do with it.
If you're curious, there is a safe way to find out:

I don't think that the thought alone makes anyone gay. You can have homosexual thoughts, but never act upon it, for whatever reasons might be. However if you are having homosexual thoughts and willing to continuously act and live your life as a homosexual then you're pretty much gay.

most babies are born with no clue about what sex is or what sexuality or sexual preference is.. as human's we all develop these feelings based on a combo of nature and nurture.. (yes the #1 debated topic in psychology).
the nature psychologist would say that you have gay tendacies because of biology and you were born with it
the nurture psychologist would say that the society and environment that you lived in played a major role in your so-called "choice" to be gay..
society seems to paint a negative picture of gays, so with this in mind, i can't see why anyone would specifically chose to be gay..
so with this in mind, i tend to believe the nature side over the nurture side.
i'm straight but very bi-curious.. and no, i don't necessarily like being bi-curious. it's just the way i am..
