When I woke up today i had a sharp or throbbing pain to my left arm it starts at my fingers to my palm and up my arm its not consistant pain it stops for a minute and starts again it did stop for alittle while but stated up again I dont know if this matters but i do work night shift and i only slept about 4 hours today im only 31 could this be a heart attack or just that im not getting enough sleep ? from Tx

omg!!!!! please see a doc. this is a sign of a heart attack, espisly if you are haveing trouble breathing!!! go go go!! hurry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! better be safe then sorry!

sharp pains as you are describing could very well indicate a heart attack or even a mini-stroke. . . Possibly a blood clot..... on the lighter note, if you do a lot of repetitive work with that arm, it could have to do with that and the nerves just being over-worked. Either way, you should call your doc. first thing in the morning, unless you are having shortness of breath, then you need to hitch a ride to the ER, ASAP.

I don't know what you do for a living but if you were doing something strenuous with that arm the day before, something you don't normally do, that pain may be attributed to that activity. In any event it's important that you see a doctor, thirty one years of age is NOT too young to suffer a heart attack! I hope every thing's o.k. and feel better!

No heart attack. Your arm might have just over-worked itself. You need to take a break and get some sleep though. Does it almost feel like you can feel your heart beat in your arm? I wouldn't be too worried about it. Just realize that your body has limits and if you push them, there could be consequences.

See a Dr. They will make sure it isnt serious. People of any age can have heart attacks.
