Can Black Mollies mate with guppies?

Question

I'm doing a science fair project and I need to know if Black Mollies will breed with Guppies. Do they?

I'm trying to see if I can have Black Mollies mating with other fish!

I have heard that they can, but only if put in extremely unnatural circumstances such as many male guppies and one female mollie, but even then it's not going to be a certain thing and the resulting fry are almost certain to be infertile. What's your science fair project about anyway?

All i will say is sweet luck. I had a female molly that became bred previously we've been given her. She had 30 babies. regrettably she and 27 of the babies didnt make it (I in simple terms have a 5 gallon tank). however the three final ones are doing good. yet I did study that the ladies can proceed to furnish start for like 2 or 3 months after a male is taken away, by using fact they shop the fertilized eggs interior them, and that she can supply start approximately each and each month as long as she is bred. I dont have a clue on the guppies nonetheless by using fact all of mine are men. good luck

Molly, platty, swordtails, and guppy will all mate together. (They are all related to each other.) The larger the size difference the less likely it is to happen. Sailfin molly, and sailfin hybrids rarely mate with guppy due to size. Swordtail, and platty can produce offspring, but not the other livebearers. In fact most pet store "platty", and "swordtail" are in fact hybrids.

I know that mollies and platys can mate, but I haven't heard of mollies mating with guppies.

Black mollies can mate with platies. I had a platy that mated with a molly once, but she died before she gave birth.
