Adam Smith- His theories on economics led governments to take a hands off approach to business allowing industries to grow without regulation on their growth, treatment of employees, or safety conditions. The pure free market approach allowed the expansion of industry and the accumulation of wealth in the hands of a small group who eventually formed trusts and monopolies to protect their industries.
Thomas Edision-THomas Edisons invention of useable electricity allowed factories to be lit allowing for work at night, and also of the use of electric machines to do more automation and assembly line organization.
Charles Darwin- His theories led to the theory of Social Darwinism which were used to explain the new classes of poor in the slums created by the Industrial Revolution. People needed an explanation for why all of the sudden there were great Industrial barrons who controlled the wealth, and the huddled masses of workers who were treated very poorly. Reformers also used this argument to argue for help since it wasn't the workers fault they were workers, they were born that way.

Have you done any research on the Internet? Have you tried "Googling" any of the names + Industrial Revolution?

Think about it. What important contributions did each man do?
How would this effect industry? Science?

I haven't been in college in over 20 years and I can still figure this one out. At least I can guess fairly well.
