On november 11th, my husband and i had sex. He didn't ejaculate, and he pulled out way before. Plus, i was on the last day or day after of my period. We weren't planning on having a baby, but if thats what god has in store for us then we're happy.

Last night, i took a home pregnancy test. (Best Choice, from the Dollar Store.) Right away there was only a line in the C section, not the T section, meaning it was negative. Sometime after 10 minutes i looked at the test again and there was a barely noticable relatively colorless line, i had to look really closely to see it. I figured it was an evaporation line, but i wasn't positive. Today in the morning i went into a free pregnancy testing clinic near my house and got it done by a professional. (urine test.) She informed me that the test was negative, and that she didn't see ANY evidence of any other positive lines, meaning pregnancy. Also, we looked up my conception time, and according to their chart and the start of my last period, my conecption time would have been on the 20th of november, and i had sex on the 11th, so they said i'm probably not pregnant. I'm going back on the 23rd to get retested just to be sure. I was wondering though, considering all of that, is this a true negative?

The only symptom i've had is that for the last few days, my breasts have been sore, my nipples have been sensitive, and if i press on my nipples it hurts like hell. Cause stress and PMS cause that?
How likely is it that my HCG levels are just low?

It worries me, because even though the ladies att he clinic told me based on my ovulation time im probably not pregnant, but i have backaches and sore nipples. Is it a pregnancy symptom if the pain is in lower back, or anywhere? and should i have low HCG levels in week 5???

I'm amazed they're bothering with your coming back to be re-tested. Five weeks is early enough for a clearly positive test. There's a chance of false negatives, but with everything else you mentioned -- not really likely in your case.

Yes, there could be all sorts of other causes for the sore back and nipples.

You're not supposed to read a pregnancy test after -- depending on the brand -- a few minutes. Whatever shows up later on is meaningless.

And, yeah, you did have sex at the wrong time of the month to conceive. Never mind the coitus interruptus.

Are you _sure_ you're, er, old enough to be married?

First of all....relax. It seems like you are very anxious to become pregnant. If you read the back of the pregnancy test box in most cases it will tell you that after 10 minutes the test is no longer valid. In most cases you must wait only two or three minutes and look at the results and then disgard. It sounds like you are not pregnant. Since you had sex over a month ago, if you were pregnant your hcg levels would be high enough to be detected accurately. Plus the pregnancy tests at doctor's offices and clinics are very accurate. Although sore breasts and nipples are symptoms of pregnancy they are also signs that your period may be on its way. The best thing for you to do is to stop stressing. Just wait and see if your period comes, if not then test again. Good luck!

You could have low levels, it's perfectly possible and I would totally go back on the 23rd to be retested, however, keep in mind, that yes stress can cause all the pregnancy symptoms and do wierd things to your body. If you're late for your period then try to relax, I know it's easier said than done but do your best, take a warm bath, read a book do something just for you to help alleviate some of your stress and if you're not pregnant then odds are your period will come when you stop thinking about it. I know that's hard to do, but wait until the 23rd and if still no period, go back for a test. Good luck to you!

P.S. My best friend tested negative until she was 11 weeks, she now has a 10 month old little boy, so it's very possible.

Try to take your pregnancy test in the morning. I also just recently found out that I am pregnant and I might be like 3 to 5 week pregnant. I also used 2 tests and they came up negative but I used them before I went to bed. I waited 3 days and then right when I woke up in the morning I took the test and found out. I've been having almost the same symptoms as you. Hope everything goes well. Good Luck!

I would totally think you would have an accurate test right now. And of course, you know that anything appearing after 10 minutes on a home test means ZIPPO.

Progesterone can totally cause everything you've mentioned and progesterone increases after ovulation. It is entirely possible you ovulated later than you usually do and, therefore, your period will be a little later than you expect it.

OMG...LOL I just see you added that you are stressing again.

RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!! You could be bringing this stuff on yourself subconsciously, dear!!!!

I don't believe in pregnancy symptoms that early, really.....especially since the HCG levels aren't super-duper high (high enough to detect on a test) and that is really starts causing pregnancy symptoms. A lot mimic PMS, too......just can't differentiate this early.

Of course, if you did ovulate later and timed intercourse with that, then you could be pregnant and it may be too early to test. It just depends upon ovulation time, etc.

You can actually have signs of pregnancy when you aren't pregnant. Yeah, it's very, very unlikely that you are pregnant. The betaHCG tests done "professionally" are pretty good at telling you which way it is.

But just to continue on signs of pregnancy... there have actually been phenomenons where women will have positive pregnancy tests, sore breasts, no periods, etc, etc. and still not be pregnant. Sometimes you want to be pregnant so much that you convince your body that you are! But if you are NOT wanting to get pregnant, the hurting breasts, etc are probably more from worrying than anything else. Worrying can affect your homones which can in turn affect you physically. It is just best not to worry and try to wait to see if menses occur. Good luck!

Don't worry about it. Your body and hormones are actually constantly changes. My period is always a surprise from month to month. One month I won't have any symptoms, and the next month the week before my period my breast feel like they weigh a ton, and hurt like hell. If you have gotten two negatives then I wouldn't worry about it. Even though you can get pregnant from precum, the odds are rare.

i have never had back pain with any of my pregnancies until i was very far along. but all the symptoms you described are PMS symptoms. you never know, you could be pregnant. it took me two months to get a store test to come up positive even though i was pregnant.

chances are, you are not pregnant. the back pain, sore/tender breast and nipples is more than likely due to that monthly thing. but, if you are still concerned, get a blood (pregnancy) test, that is the best way to detect pregnancy.
