I would encourage everyone to search for 'Images of abortion' on the web. I found it on yahoo. It changed my opinion on abortion!
Please, anyone considering this, search this website before making this decision. It will then truly be your choice before you make this 'choice'. You are legally free to go this route but there are other options. What is in your heart? Be informed before you decide.

I'm a staunch conservative traditionalist with a history of voting Republican.
I personally find abortion reprehensible and would never do it. I used to not feel that way, but then my wife had an amazingly beautiful little girl.
But I do support a woman's right to choose, as long as she chooses before the end of the first trimester. Once the fetus reaches the point where it can survive outside the womb, it should be illegal. Other than that, I'm pro-choice.
Anti-abortion, but pro-choice.

FREE ABORTION ON DEMAND and if you don't want one, don't GD have one. Take that right away from the rest of us and you will start a very uncivil war. Angry women with matches all across America will turn fundi and Catholic churches into burning monuments to gender repression. If males bore the children, abortion would be a guaranteed freedom in the Bill of Rights.

Yes.
Would I have one? No - it isn't the right choice for me in my life.
I am not the person that has the right to tell another how to live their life and that they have to do something because it is what my religion states. But by keeping it legal, it keeps it regulated. Keeping it regulated keeps dirty men with coat hangers in back alleys from performing abortions, killing the mothers along with terminating the pregnancies. I don't think that is very pro-life.
The other side is that by making something illegal will not stop it from happening (I point out murder, drugs, carjacking, child molestation, speeding, drinking and driving, etc). All it will do is make it so anyone can do it, and it will kill twice as many. That is not a very pro-life stance at all. That is a selfish, self-righteous and religious stance.
PS - I also believe in the death penalty, so don't try that argument with me.

No. I hate the idea of it, think the "choice" was made when the couple decided to have ***, think it is particularly troublesome when used as a form of birth control, would be very upset if my Wife/Girlfriend/Lover got one without my consent and am disturbed by the fact that we really DON'T know what it means in terms of when a life begins.
Should it be illegal to have one?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
All we will be doing is pushing it underground. Rich women will still get them, poor women will resort to coat hangers or shady doctors and we will lose TWO lives. And it disturbs me that women carry the babies for 9 months, we men want to make these decisions. This is a deeply personal choice that should best be left up to the woman, not what I happen to think about it. And interestingly enough it is mostly the conservatives who say they want government OUT of more things in our lives that want them to decide things like this (and do NOTHING for the babies once they are born).

I would agree far more with a society that eliminated the need for abortion by making birth control easily and cheaply available and was mature enough to make good sex education a national project.
I would also be far more tolerant of conservatives who are against abortion if they supported creating a social infrastructure that supports the fetuses they claim to value so much. It never fails to amaze me how much they care for children in the womb, and how hard they work to eliminate any support for those same children once they are born.

I am a man so I'll never have one. This, however, is an decision that is best left up to those involved and not bureaucrats in Washington. Personally, I am pro-life, but who am I to force my morals and choices on anyone else? Everyone needs to make decisions for themselves and stop trying to make them for everyone else...
The problem I have with the "pro-life" crowd its that everything is either black or white. They are pushing to make all abortion illegal without taking into consideration the welfare of the mother, who is also one of God's children. Most liberals, myself included, prefer the "legal but rare" stance.

I do not "agree with abortion." I do not endorse abortion. I do not like abortion. I do not wantonly encourage women to get abortions. I do not look forward to the day that I become pregnant so that I, too, can get an abortion.
I DO support a woman's right to choose. I DO support a woman's right to control her body and her destiny. I DO support a woman's right to keep a medical decision between her and her doctor. I DO put the rights of a post-born woman over the "rights" of a pre-born fetus.

Agree with abortion about what? Or, I suppose you mean something 'about' abortion, but you do not say what that is.
I agree that it is a woman's decision.
I'm also sure that if it were men who had to give birth, there would be an abortion clinic on every street corner of every town in America - right across from the Topless Bar and auto parts store.
Would you disagree with abortion if your wife, sister, or mother was raped and became pregnant, or if a pregnancy threatened their lives?

I am pro choice in most situations. I believe if the woman is over 18 and yes she should be able to make decisions that deal with her own body. If under, then I believe the parents should be involved in the decision too.
