Milk production is often a little lower in the evening. Maybe she is just trying to increase your production by suckling longer. My son is similar during his growth spurts. Try eating an afternoon bowl of oatmeal, a yam, or other lactogenic food to help up your supply in the evenings faster. I wouldn't jump to cutting out diary or soy. I thought the same thing with my son, but found he just needed more time suckling because he was a big eater (even at a few weeks old). Beside, when you cut out a food you have to do it one at a time and then wait for a week or so to see if it makes any difference. Since she is fine all day, it seems it may not be your diet unless you are eating drastically different in the afternoons than any other time of day. Also, some babies naturally feed more/longer in the evenings in order to fill up more effectively for night sleep.

It probably is colic. If it were gas, you'd know from her eventually passing it. She might be allergic to something you're eating (and no she can't be allergic to your milk, only possibly something you've eaten).
Although some say not to, I gave my babies acidophilus supplements. Even that young you can open up a capsule, stir the powder with a few drops of water and spoon it into her mouth. It does wonders for the digestive system.

I heard on Oprah the other day that babies this young have a language based on reflexes. It's so fascinating, and it works! If your baby makes an neh sound, she's hungry,an owh sound means tired, an eigh sound means gassy, and so forth. Check out her website for more details, all moms should know about this! In the meantime maybe she's tired, try rocking and singing to her. My daughter screams if she gets overly tired. Also, try walking her around the room holding her upright on your shoulder to help her burp and relieve any gas symptoms.
Good luck.

What are you eating for lunch? Keep in mind that anything you eat goes to your breast milk first and then to you. So if it gives you gas, it's gonna give your little one gas. I've even heard of spicey food making mom's breast milk spicey.

Sounds like "the witching hour!" It's very common for babies to have a fussy period in the evenings and want to nurse frequently at that time.

Stop eating dairy, soy, and anything from the cabbage family - no chocolate for sure.
