yes streebike is right, the lt250r and lt500r are tow of the faster quads ever made, still outrun any of these new 450 4-pokes easily. but because of that, to my knowladge 2 stroke are banned from all national and pro races. look it up. they can't sell new 4-pokes it the old 2 stroke would still out run them. my 92 lt250r made 40 hp stock, with the low low 8: to 1 compression. what does the new 450's make?? 37hp. it wasnt nothing to have a 75 hp 2 stroke honda 250r, or suzuki lt250r, and the 500 even more, but as for a new quad the lt450 suzuki seems to be the top of the 4 strokes.

What class? Go to the track and see what's winning.
Make sure that if you're racing the adult classes, you have a good local mechanic that can keep you running all season - the modern four strokes are not easy to work on, and unless you have lots of experience working on these engines, they are best left up to a pro.
In the kids or schoolboy classes, there's many different options depending on the rider size, how much money you want to spend, and your skill level.

Yep. The Cannondale/ATK. ATK bought all the left over parts and tooling when C'dale went belly up and has been building and selling them for the last few years. They've done all the updates that were needed and are marketing a very competitive machine.
The 'Dale's were so far ahead of their time that the other manufacturers are just beginning to catch up.

If you can find one the cannondale 440. It is American made fuel injected and the lightest bike around. They have four models the full on race is the best but it will set you back about 8500.00.
