No, there is no way. But you know what some people do? they have a dummy account and that's where they either write the private stuff or where they write the less private stuff. You could spy on him and see if he has two accounts and then ask if he will tell you what's going on. But really, you won't be able to access it without him letting you....

Either get him to add you as a person that has the ability to access private blogs, or somehow get his user name and password.
