they have got to talk. she can't stay with someone because of guilt. if he cheated once he will probably cheat again.

Depends on the age, prior expectations, tolerance level and unknown personality factors of those in the partnership. On one level I would think it's one episode to which he has (presumably) admitted and you could view it as a one-off when under stress. But if their relationship was good why did he go off on holiday instead of staying with his partner for support? Looking at the facts in your question I would probably give the relationship a bit longer and talk (!) but my gut instinct is that this partner is at risk of straying whenever the going gets tough. Some people do have relationships like that. I think your partner should stick with it for a few months, and then take stock of what she wants in life and what she can expect from this partner.

Cheating is cheating. There is no way around that. It occurs only when somebody lets it. Without consent by their part, it would be called rape. So he knew what he was doing. Any reason he gives would be false. The only thing he can do is apologize. She would have to decide if her relationship with him is good enough to last through all that.

thats an awful situation for both sides but at the end of the day cheating is still cheating, why then be in a relationship if your not going to stick by each other.why did he go away on his own?he needed your friend to be there, she was but he obviously didnt appreciate that.dont mean to be harsh but thats only my opinion

Just because the boyfriend is upset that is no reason too cheet on your friend absolutely not , there is not a single good reason for cheeting tell your friend to tell him to clear off plus i am single because my ex cheated on me and it is the worst feeling especially when you know that you would never do something so shallow .

She may need to give him some space because no matter what he is going through cheating is no excuse. And use those situations to cheat is sorry as ever. She needs to determine what she is willing to put up with.

There is no excuse for cheating on your partner. There is no basis for you friend to be hurt unless she is married to the guy. If they are not married they are both guilty of the same sin of fornication. Period.

I think she should give him a second chance.
His mind was in a mess, not thinking straight..
I think going on holiday is the worst thing to do, I think it is best to have family and friends round you. At times like that. Maybe why he strayed?? He met someone he could talk too, when he was feeling low.

She should dump him - tough ****, cheating is cheating, why wasn't she with him on holiday in the first place? She is only selling herself short if she lets him off with it. If it was me i would say bye-bye - she doesnt have to stay out of pity - he didn't pity her when he was cheating
