What happends if i only get one guinea pig!!!!!?

I dont know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!what happends if i get one and i am in school monday trough friday for 7 hours and its in ma room cuz ma mom dosnet wnat to take care of it but i really want a guinea pig and what if my dad says only one guine pig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its fine!! It will be fine and happy just play with him when you get home. They are nocternil meaning he will sleep during the day. If you got two they would bond with each other and not like you as much any ways.

Edit: I take it that you don't want just one guinea pig because you're going to be away from it so long throughout the day, and since your mother won't help take care of it and it'll be in your room, then you're worried it will get lonely. So you want two of them so it would have company.

Well, if that's the case, then you shouldn't worry because it will be fine on it's own while you're gone, really. And if you had two of them then it would be more work for you taking care of them. I think you should see how you do just taking care of the one for now (if you get one) and if it works out well, then ask about getting another one in a few months, maybe for Easter.

Guinea pigs are social animals, and need to be with a friend for the best quality of life. You have to decide if it's more important for you to have a guinea pig, or more important that you give any animal you do get the care they deserve.

(Also, the person that mentioned the wheel: they're dangerous to guinea pigs and can cause serious spinal damage. No wheels for cavies.)

It is okay to have only one guinea pig. I know you are gone for long periods of time, just make sure that while you are home you spend as much time with him as you can. Some guinea pigs can be litter trained, which makes it a lot easier because then they can just hang out with you on your lap while you read or watch tv. Or you could have his outside with you too, that way you don't have to worry about the mess. I would research and see how to litter train your piggy to only go to the bathroom in his cage, or a box, that way you can have him out with you more. I have had five guinea pigs, and one of them actually was litter trained.

You can have one guinea pig. Just make sure it is fed and watered before you go to school in the morning and when you come home, pay some attention to it. Take it out and play with it.

If you intend on spending at least 15 minutes a day, most days of the week, you may be even better off with only one. Having multiple guinea pigs can cause them to bond together, rejecting you. The most tame pigs are often then ones that have no other pigs with which to interact. They bond with you instead.

i've had guinea pigs and i went to school for7 hours and some nights not come home till 9 or 10 pm. you feed them a 1/4 of a cup of pellets a day and make sure they have water. if you get two get two girls, boys will fight. get a book about guinea pigs they tell about question you'll have

It is easily to take care one.When you went back home,change the bedding.pellet and water at monday,wednesday and friday.you can put a big tube/cover so the g.pig can hide inside.

OK. I'm 13 and i had 2 hamsters that were supposed to be to females, but ended up be in a boy and a girl. so they had baby's i had 11 hamsters to take care of. its easy simply just change its food and water every morning before you go to school and that will problem last him/her. trust me its easier than it seems.
