If you can play Eddie Van Halen... you can play.

It is old school... but it is the truth.

Try Anything by Black Sabbath, Toni Iommi is the grand father of hard rock / metal. Also try working out some Corrosion of Conformity, the Deliverance album has some good solid songs. These songs are strong in fundamental rock rythm progressions.

eagles-any song of theirs, espalilly hotal californa, take it easy, get over it......

Van Halen-might be hard to play for an intermiate

TIP: when ur listening to the radio, listen for the guitar. Those songs are the best, cause you are familar with them (most of the time) and you can find the song usually on the internet or on a cd or something.

when you get really good (like me) try the Flight of the Bumble Bee. its really fun.
hope all of this info helps.

stranglehold by Ted Nugent
House of the rising sun, somebody said that, that's good, Smoke on the water (Deep Purple), Judas Priest anything. Black Dog-Zep. Van Halen's great, but intermediate, you're not quite ready for 'eruption'! Good luck!!

I would suggest you learn something by the Killers or some kind of band like that, but I also don't know your taste in music. Really I would suggest that you learn the guitar part of your current favorite song.

Anything by AC/DC is good. It will help you with your bar chords.
House of the Rising Sun will help perfect your Arpeggio scales.
Do that and you should be able to knock down anything that comes your way.
