I'm kind of shy and don't really like to give speeches in front of people but I think I have a passion for acting. I dont really haved any training but I feel it in my heart that I want to do it. Does it make sense for someone to want to do this and be shy at the same time? I don't want to do it for only the fame and fortune which that i a nice incentive but I'm a student in college and I always want to just quit my business major and study acting. It's driving me crazy. Is it your passion when you think about something and your heart just pounds because you want to do it. Please help me understand.

If you really want to act, but your shyness is getting in the way, there's only one thing that you have to remember: it's not you that's doing any of those things on stage; it's your character, because you BECOME your character.

I dont know, but I do believe if you want to act and you let your shyness hold you back from what you wanna do in life, then you will never find out if you will make a good actor or not.so i say try acting and see if it is something you like to do.
and hey, you dont have to have a speaking part try out for a non-speaking part. they are just as good.GOOD LUCK

Don't give up your business studies. But by all means try acting.
If you don't you'll wish you did.
