why do they like to make vids about themselves? why do they tell strangers about themselves? what is the reason behind go to websites to show who you are to people that you don't even know?

myspace is a totally wild and new medium for tweeners and pre-teens to communicate that was never available to earlier generations. it gives them an opportunity to have a venue rarely monitored by parents, to physically display photos of themselves, and prepare a profile that will make them out to be whoever they say they are. it is an opportunity to flirt with each other, without the nervousness of being around each other physically. same with youtube. these kids love the opportunity to climb into their internet world and be whoever they want to be, and mostly, for attention.

I don't understand it, I'm too old. (35) I've worked at 2 places where girls either quit or got fired for things they wrote on myspace. My computer was down for a few days, so I went to the library, and all the 11-14 yr olds were going crazy on myspace.

It's just anther way of communicating.
From my freinds list, the people who live farthest from home use it more often.
Also when I moved to a new school, sites like myspace introduced you to your classmates.

I think youtube is funny to watch the animal videos. And sometimes documentary videos are fully downloaded so you can watch them there for free.

Well personally I don't see how that's wrong? I do it and its fun, you get to express your self in any other way you would like to be. No limits, no reasons to be nervous. If you would like to some how become popular like "lonelygirl15, Jessica Rose."
