because the Americans only think in the box and not out. they dont know whats happening in the next state let alone the rest of the world so the only thing they can sing about is the u.s.a if you ask 10 americans were is france they wouldnt beable to tell you were it is.

Because for better or worse, Americans love their country. And even though it might be a little bit annoying to people in other countries, (and lord knows, blind patriotism is not a good thing) you have to give them credit for that. They truly love their country.

Because weve been taught to think that we are superior in every single way to all other countries and were smug about it. If you really beleived that you were the best person in the world you would probably sing about yourself as well

Because we as Americans are proud of our country,and the freedom that we have.Most Americans love this country,and try to express it thru song and actions.

If you listen to the national anthems the Aussies do the same - theirs is "advance australia fare"
and the old german one was "Deustchland Deutchland"
they are just the ones i remember
So the americans arent the only ones

Because they are (mostly) very patriotic - nothing wrong with that. Could do with a bit more here if we're honest!
Mind you, "24 Hours from Stalybridge" or "Born in the UK" doesn't quite have the same ring to it somehow!!!!

Because our country is relatively young (little over 200 years compared almost 2,000 years for say Italy, parts of France, Britain, etc)., and still growing. We're still defining ourselves as a Nation and people and we're proud of that.

What music are you listening to? I can probably count on one hand all the songs that mention the US. (not counting country songs of course).
