Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.

In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.

Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.

In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.

If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

Well I use Neutrogena products. The great thing about this is that there are so many different ones to choose from for all different types of skin types. And I know alot of other people that use it as well and it works great. So here are just a few things to help you out with your search. They have Advanced Solutions Acne Makr Fading Peel, it helps to keep acne from returning and the post makrs of acne. Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel helps to control the acne and make it disappear quickly. Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Treatment Mask help clean the pores and keep your skin free of blackheads. With that also use Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub and Astringent. On the spot Acne Treatment is really good I tried that, and that really cleans the skin good so pimples won't form. Advanced Solutions by Neutrogena has a complete Acne Therapy System so definietly try that. There's so many to try but first off make sure you know what type of skin you have so you won't waste any money. If you have oily skin then get something that helps with that, dry sensitive there are lots so just figure that out and you are on your way to healthy beautiful skin, also watch what you eat that honestly does help. Or at least eat a fruit or veggie every day, GOOD LUCK!!!!

Burts Bees Tomato complexion bar. Then I use Caudalie moisturizing fluid (fluid not the cream-this is very important) you can get a sample at Sephora. Then every few days when I'm drying my face I rub gently in a circular motion with the towel to exfoliate. It's the only thing that's worked so far for me. I have really sensitive combination skin so if I wasn't breaking out then I was getting a rash from being too dry. It's such a pain in the ***. And also once a week bring some water to a boil then pull it off the stove and hold your face over it. Put a towel over your head to hold the steam in. Do that for about 10 minutes and then put a mask of plain yogurt on your face. If your acne is really bad add lemon juice but try just the yogurt first. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse and moisturize. Don't use creams or anything with SPF in it, they tend to be too heavy and clog the pores. Stick to serums. Another thing I tried that left my skin really soft was dissolving raw sugar in warm water and applying it to my face with a cotton ball like it was a toner. I left it on for 10 minutes and then rinsed. Anyway, hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I have struggled with acne during my teenage years. I went to the dermatologist and he told me that no matter what i would have done or used on my face it would not go away on its own. There are also myths about what you eat or drink but you can still have acne if you eat and drink healthy. It can depend on your genes and other stuff. They gave me a prescription for a cream called benzaclin and also a pill to take by mouth. It worked really well!! If I was frustrated I would try to see a dermatologist. There is so much they can do. Hope this helps!

Hi there, I highly recommend two products for crystal clear skin:1. A face cream with alpha hydroxy acid in it, you can get it rather cheap at any drugstore and it WORKS! 2. A regular skin care regime of washing with a mild bar soap and water, followed by a light oil free astringent applied with cotton balls. NEVER use tissue or toilet paper products on your face, they contain wood pulp which can irritate your skin. Finally, once a week apply a facial mask like the ones that come in a tube at the drug store to dry on your face and shrink your pores. Remember, a good skin care routine when first started will result in a few breakouts at first as the skin is detoxified, then by week two you will have clearer skin. I have always had great skin and that is all I have ever done. Most of those expensive products simply won't work. Good luck. And of course, never go to bed with makeup on!

Whatever remedy you try, stick with it for at least 45 days...if you think it's still not working try a couple more weeks. I jumped from product to product way too early when several would have done the trick had I stuck with them long enough. I finally went to the dermatologist and they started me on a topical antibiotic with peroxide in it and it worked great. Took a while though. Now I use over the counter Persagel and wash my face clear of all make-up/dirt on a regular basis. Good luck!

i've had bad acne since sixth grade, but i finally had my mom take me to a dermatologist, and now my acne is clearing up. the dermatologist looked at all my acne and prescribed some creams and a medication. i take the medication and use the cream every day, and it really works. dermatologists know best. also, remember to wash your face twice (no more, no less) a day and don't pick at your acne cause that makes it stay longer and leaves scars. :)

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
