It is gradually changing right now. The people of China are getting more freedoms everyday. Enough to keep them from revolting. Lets hope it continues. Look what happened in the USSR when it happened too fast.

It won't collapse like Russian did. Instead it will evolve into what it is moving to now - an aggressive, money driven dictatorship. To the Chinese, communism is not the government as envisioned by Marx, but a tool to keep dissension at bay and allow the financial war lords to rule Chinese society. You can look at China now and see the ultra rich getting the protection of the government and the peasants being oppressed. Corruption is rampant in China with money being the god.
So forget about China being communist - it has evolved into a much odder animal --a more dangerous one, too.

Only after we decompose. We are the ones who are financing China's economic boom. They are the fastest growing economy in the world thanks to the US. We buy more from China than they can produce. And now we will soon be buying their cars. How can the USA openly support an oppressive communist regime and encourage it's growth? It really is a disgrace to this country and to democracy itself.

Theyre actually going pretty strong right now, but all types of government ultimatly depend on the happiness of the people, like the US, Japan, Iraq, England, anywhere, if people get too pissed they may take it into theyre own hands. (civil wars, simple rebellions, assasanation plots, etc)
So I guess like any other country, until the people have had enough.
