Age makes no difference in any relationship. It is the hearts of the two involved that matter. Are they in it for the good of each other and the joy they bring to each other, or are they in it for selfish reasons? If you truly care about the other one, and she about you, then public opinion shouldn't matter

To answer your question, anyone can date anyone as far as ability goes. But, there are both legal and ethical considerations in the case of a romantic relationship, the ramifications of which could result in both legal and personal growth issues. The legal issue is that of what other posters have mentioned, being that it is illegal to have physical relations with someone who is under the age of 18 if you are 28 years old. Depending on the parents'/authorities' involvement, this can possibly result in jail time, not to mention the stigma of being labeled a sex offender to the 28 year old, and the stress that would put on the relationship regardless. The ethical issue is the one that I have more concern with. Regardless of the feelings that may be there, there is too much growth that occurs between the ages of 15 and 28 to dismiss. It concerns me that anyone who is almost thirty years old, would choose the company of a minor over someone with a closer life experience to their own. I am not saying that their time together can't be full of fun and joy... but.... if you look at the psychologically proven timeline of human experience... there is so much personal and mental growth that is made between 15 and 18, and 18 and 22, and 22 to 25 and 25 to 30. Finishing school, attending university, starting a career, getting your license, turning 21, all of these are major milestones in a young person's life, and I fear that resentment will surely ensue on both partners' parts. The 15 year old will never 'grow up' fast enough and as the time ticks... the 28 year old will never be able to 'slow down'. Think about the fact that when the 28 year old was the 15 year old's age, the 15 year old was Two. If you think about the amount of things you've learned/ways you've grown from 2 - 15, it's not much different. Also, I want to reiterate that I am very wary of the motivations of the 28 year old. Honestly, anyone under the age of 25 is so easily pliable (because they are still figuring out Who they Are), it's an odd power dynamic in my opinion to purposely seek that out.

Nobody thinks twice about a 28 yr old (or more!) guy dating an 18 yr old woman, so what's the big deal - except for the homophobes, but they hate you anyway and who gives a dam about them.

Thats great just go with the flow, age doesn't matter, nor does the sex so ignore the others. I was hit on by someone 40 when I was just 14, of course I said no, that is illegal anyway. I'm 15 now. But why does it matter you are legal and if you like her and she likes you there is nothing wrong.♥

I think it's perfectly fine. Have fun, be safe, respect each other and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. It's your life!

Once a guy breaks the decade barrier, he's getting pretty sleazy.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If you are happy, great.
