Or is that mostly the foreign, example Chinese, videos in the state?
I'm asking because my wife is Thai, and we're visiting the states next week. The question is whether or not to watch the Lord of the Rings with English subtitles, or wait until we go to the states in the case that they might have subtitles in Thai since it is a complicated story.

They do typically have subtitles in other languages, but Asian languages typically aren't included. Often they'll have one or more of German, English, French and/or Spanish.

Most sibtitles on American DVDs are Spanish, French, and occasionally German. Only foreign movies will have English and that certain foreign language (of course). But.. I have yet to see Thai as a choice for subtitles on DVDs, and the Lord of the Rings DVD does not have Thai subtitles.

The DVD's here in the US are usually only subtittled in English, Spanish and sometimes in French. The only ones I've ever seen in other languages were as you mentioned foreign films. I doubt if you can find The Lord Of The Rings with Thai subtittles but I could be wrong. Once you get here there are video stores who only specialize in Asian, Hindu and other culture ( for lack of a better word), videos. You can always check with them.
