ok... so! i have my first audition coming up. for the directors- what kind of things do you look for in an auditioner? in their heashots? resumes?

Also, callbacks, whats the deal. i know what it is... but how should you behave...? if the charecter they have you read lines from has an accent, should you use the accent? any other things?

thanks.

absolutely confidence. you have to know you're good, but not the best. a good place to look at some people's resumes and headshots is www.ciaoagency.com i think it's .com. anyway, just do whatever you feel for the character on call backs. and only do an accent if you really can do it. and not half *** do it, but really do it.

never shake anyones hand unless they make the movie to shake your hands! also when you go to a callback always wear what you wore on the audition they picked for that reason and how you act. always walk in with confidence and smile. dont use the accent when you audition. while auditioning they will take a look at your resume and when your finished and they like it they might ask you do the accent. that is the ONLY time you ever say it with your accent. yeah bring a head shot and resume with you. bring 8 head shot and resumes ALL THE TIME! EVERY TIME YOU GO FOR AN AUDITION! because you never know who you can bump into there. another director and agent maybe even mel gibson who knows!? so always carry around 8. and on your resume never lie!!!! if they know you lie next time you want to audition for one of there casting they will be like oh i remember her she lied and there goes your resume and head shot in the trash.

hope it helped

If they want you to read as the character you should read exactly as you would play the character. As for auditioner they look for confidence and ability that isnt forced. They also want to see that you are loose, joke around with the judges a little when you get there.

Be prepared. Be confident in your ablilities.
In headshots they should look like you when you present them.
Be able to take direction, meaning if they suggest something, apply it to the audition.
Don't take auditioning personal, easier said than done, but there are times when physical attributes are going to get you the part.
Audition when ever you get the chance.
Break a leg.
