I assure you that Barry Zito will end up with the New York Mets for about six years and 15 million per. This is because: 1) Zito wants to go to a big market team; 2) New York Mets have the cash; 3) New York Mets need one more piece to make them legitimate World Series favorites; and 4) The Yankees and the Sox have no interest in him; 5) The Dodgers signed Jason Schmidt; 6) Zito will not sign with the Texas Rangers no matter what given its ballpark's reputation as a hitters' nightmare.

Mark my words -- Zito will sign with New York 6 years/90-95 million.

If I had to guess right now I'd still say the New York Mets. I think that is where Boras and Zito would like him to end up and that's why offers from the Mariners and Rangers haven't gone beyond being, "just offers."

Basically, I think Zito and Boras want to hold out until Suppan and a few of the other fringe starters are signed up, that way Zito is the absolute last of the big guns left to sign. Personally, I think Zito is overrated, but with Boras as his agent, that still means he's going to be a $90 million or more kind of guy!

I think he will end up with the Texas Rangers. It sounds like Hicks is going get out his checkbook. Just like he did for A-Rod. The result will be the same. Zito will be unhappy in a few years and get traded to the Yankees.

He is most likely going to pitch for the Texas Rangers in 2007. Zito had an offer from Texas that he really liked, so he is most likely going to Texas. I do not think that the Yankees are anymore interested in Zito, because their starting rotation is set, now with Pettitte.

Mets. I think they will have the money to offer him (he has better numbers than Dice-K, and he got 52 mil over 6 years). Zito will get a large pay day - he has the same agent as A-Rod and Dice-K (and look what those two got!!!!!).

Who the hell knows. It is kind of getting me mad because the Mets have not made an offer to him so it looks like as of know the Rangers. But i hope he goes to the Mets.

Texas.

They have a history of overpaying Boras clients like A-Rod, who they bid a reported 70 million more than the second place team, Chan Ho Park, and Eric Gagne who has not shown that his arm injuries are behind him.

Probably Texas, although I hope that the Mets sign him.
