A very good question!
Most people in the world with a net worth of more than a million dollars will always strive to earn more. Either through manipulating their investments or actually working and earning more.
Some would tell you they are driven by greed. I actually know some where it almost seems like making money is all they know how to do, and all they enjoy is making more money.

Financial intelligence has much more to do with it than greed. The rich have more money because they are better at making it than most. Wouldn't you like to have more money.
"Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kyosaki is a great read.

When no one else on the planet has any money and is in debt to them to the point that the entires world income is strictly interest to that one person. In other words, never.
