I have one friend that I have known for years and to this day I cannot tell her and her mother apart on the phone.

Absolutely. Many times people have mistaken my son and I for each other on the phone. Boxing announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr sounds exactly the same as his old man who was a boxing announcer for 40 years.

EVERYTHING about your physical being is genetic. I have 2 brothers and we all sound almost exactly alike.

the tone of the voice is what makes it similar to yr mom or dad i.e. accent, the way u pronounce the words.. etc
