First of all I can't believe you said the boss of the home thing. That is so not today's standards. Most women today work and clean and cook and keep up with bills and kids and everything. She should be the boss of the home, but the home is home. It is a place where everyone is equal and the boss of home is Love and Acceptance at all costs! Now, if you'd simply like to pull a really good prank on her, buy a large rubber coiled snake and coil it in the toilet and leave the head out just a little, put the lid down and walk away. When she goes to use the bathroom she'll scream her butt off and you can laugh heartily!

Wow. The way to not come across as a jerk is to not be a jerk. If you are feeling that your wife does not take you seriously the answer is in you, not her. Perhaps you take yourself too seriously. You are not the boss of the house. A household is a team effort. I assume that you work for a living and don't do much housework. If your wife does not work outside the home, give her more credit. A "housewife" of today does much more in the 8 hours that you are at work than you think. As a matter of fact if housewives were paid for their time and efforts in the household they would make about $90,000/ year. So, the next time she hands you the pepper dock her pay, phucker.

Honestly... are you really a jerk like you seem, or do you only ask these questions for the shock factor you get from the replies? If this is an honest question... too late, you already come across as a jerk. Did you portray yourself as someone completely different to your wife to get her to marry you? And then you have the nerve to call her food horrible. Why is she still with you? You should marry someone just like you - then we all could hear about the knock-out, drag-down fights you both have. If you want good food, make it yourself, then you won't need the salt to cover the taste.

Let her read this question. But, that being said, only a 'jerk' would seriously want to 'punish' someone. Doesn't sound like you are very happy. Get counseling, separate, or talk--really talk this out. It isn't going to last very long at this rate. I wish you the best. BTW...by passing you the peppa when asking for salt, she is telling you that she is ticked off at you about something. Could it be communication ????? Start talking...calmly, quietly, with love and a real desire to get to the bottom of the problem and work on it--together. Good luck.

You say you're "not 12" and don't want to come across as a jerk...but you are certainly acting as though you are 12 and you sound like a jerk in this question. If you're having such petty problems, TALK TO HER! Don't take the attitude that you have in this question, however, just talk to her...man to woman. And to ask they yahoo public "how to punish" your wife?? That is just complete immaturity there...and all for passing you the pepper...

Look, the next time you go to Burger King or McDonald's, just grab a whole bunch of the salt, pepper, sugar, and coffee cream packets. So if you ask your wife for the salt and she passes the pepper, you'll have your handy, dandy salt packet to save the day. (This works at virtually any fast food joint-you can get taco sauce; mild, hot, and fire, Arby's sauce, tartar sauce, you name it!) Then you'll always be 1 step ahead of her as far as condiments are concerned.

You are a man, and to a woman, you are the game. You are her play thing. To see you get emotional over little things makes her feel like she has purpose. Sorry dude, welcome to being a man. I know you didn't sign up for this, but women actually believe they need a reaction from us, regardless if it is positive or negative.

Teach her to pass the salt with the pepper like my husband taught me. You just have to keep after her and keep telling her and it will sink in.
