If you see the country's population you will have your answer. Also Greece has had so many wars and political unstability the last century that playing football was considered luxury. Furthermore it has not been able to pay referees and make bribe scandals like Italians. It won the Euro once, fair and honestly by playing a great team fooball (and dont tell me about defencive play,this is all crap and you know it ,Italy did exactly the same thing in world cup and in much worse and dirty and ''mafiozi'' way ). But dont worry Greece will be ready to defend the euro title in 2008.
Besides Greece is lately busy making the greatest basketball team!

because they are pants!! Winning Euro by basically playing11 men behind the ball and hoping for a lucky break. Yes it worked, but it's not really good enough for winning world cups
