Well I had natural childbirth, but not by choice. My labor lasted 45 minutes. One pain, once it started it didn't stop til it was over. Not very many people go that fast especially with their first but I did. The experience itself, the 9 months of carrying the baby, the birth, and the raising of the baby is so much more than just the worry of pain that the pain doesn't really matter. The experience is well worth anything. The love is like no other to be felt. If you do have this blessing in your life, count yourself very lucky. Not all women are blessed to go through birth.

Well, before the contractions get bad, cause the contractions are the most painful part of labor, I told the doctor just to give me something to take the edge off....if it got really bad than give me an epidural. They put an iv with 2 mg of Stadol med and that kept the pain subsided. I mainly slept the whole time. I did feel the contraction, but becaue of the med, it only felt like a regular menstruation cramp that last for a few seconds. The actual delivery of the baby didn't hurt at all. It was actually funny, cause i felt so "high" from that med, once i heard my son cry...the first thing i said...where is that coming from? lol

i have 2 children.my first was a vaginal birth and i had an epidural.the pain is very intense but there is releif available to you.actually delivering the baby feels like a lot of pressure and burning.the next day i was a little sore but could cope with warm compresses and ibuprofen.my second child was a c section and i wouldnt recommend it unless absolutely nessary!it was by far the worst pain imaginable.lets put it this way:after my vaginal birth i was nursing my baby, eating a big meatball hoagie and walking myself to the bathroom.after my c-section i couldnt walk, couldnt sit up,was so medicated i didnt even know i had a baby and had a catheter in.i was on liquid diet for 2 days and when i tried to walk i screamed in pain.the incision site felt like burning knives and it took at least 3-4 weeks for me to feel better.women have been giving birth since the beginning of time.its a natural thing,it is painful and sometimes you may tear or need an episiotomy (a cut the doctor makes to help the baby come out) but like i said, you can be comfortable during labor and the recovery time is alot faster.i never screamed during my labor,it helped me more to be quiet and focus my pain out, rocking in a rocking chair was a good distraction.you will be fine!

I woke up in labor, went for a walk, had some heavy cramping, my midwife came over to my house and filled my birthing tub for me and once i got in the water I felt my uterus contracting harder and harder but the water kept me comfortable enough to deal with it. 45 minutes later there was some burning and stinging sensations down there and then next thing I know my I reached down there and caught my daughter and brought her to the surface for her first breath.
I've had 3 kids now and the pain level has been a little different with all of them being the 1st born in the hospital even with painkillers was the most painful. I think if you are in an environment that is comfortable to you the pain will still be there but you will be better able to cope with it thus the pain wont seem so bad. For me being at home and having a warm birthing tub with the water over my body helped me to cope with the pain better, you have to remember that pain is progress in the child labor process and you must learn not to fight it but go with it lol- sorry probably sounds funny but that's how it was for me. The pain is so worth it to bring a perfect little baby into the world.

QAm not great with pain either, a bit of a drama quenn really, but when I got pregnant I took the decision not to fret about the birth as no matter how much I worried, I would still have to go through it!!
I refused to have an epidural, as I did not like the idea of a long needle in my spine...
Giving birth for me was ok, I was ready to have another bambino one hour after pushing my baby out1

Mine first was absolutely horrible. It was the worst possible pain you could ever imagine but when it is happening it doesn't matter because you know why you are doing it. You know it is worth it to have a child. I didn't have any pain medication... and that obviously makes a big difference. It is a lot worse if you have "back labor" and not everyone has that.

God does not send us what he knows we can't handle. Childbirth pains is a natural thing and we all go through that- some with more pain than others- but hey, we are all different. What I can tell you is that no matter the intensity of your pain as soon as that baby comes out of you - you won't even remember that it hurt- (at least at that moment). As soon as you see that beautiful face everything will feel A OK.

All is good when you have an epidural!!!! :) They are a gift from God! You will ave some pain and discomfort but it is minimal when you have an epidural and so worth it when you see that sweet baby in your arms. I've had 2 kids.
