Sounds like a good plan for a bachelor. Family, friends, some refreshments... I spend my Xmas with my wife and kids, we visit both grandparents early eve, and laugh at kids messing with the gifts. New years eve, some rocket shooting for the kids early, and sauna and a few beers later. The usual family stuff... Have a merry Xmas and a happy New year!

Christmas Eve - Traditional evening of singing Christmas caroles with the extended family and letting ALL the kids open Christmas presents (that is such a joy!) and dinner! At first I thought it sounded kind of corny, but now I'm looking forward to it; it will be fun! Never actually sang Christmas caroles intentionally with the whole family before!
NYEve - So far no special plans.

Christmas eve is a big Polish traditional meal that we've done for over 300 years. it's a 9 course meatless dinner that starts with the youngest child watching for the star and then.... we share the oplatek (unlevened type bread) with all members of the family and then we eat. my two older nephews pass out the gifts to each family member that we bought and they individually picked out. they like doing this before they get their own gifts - watching each other. then my dad and i head off to midnight mass - he's onthe choir, i'm downstairs. the mass is in Polish, English and a little Latin. my mom doesn't go she's usually too tired and emotionally it takes too big a tole out of her.... it's really a moving mass.
new years eve - i'm usually working as i am in the hospitality industry!

For Christmas Eve, I will fall into a quivering heap out of exhaustion, thanking God Almighty that I survived my twelfth Christmas working for a "major US delivery service", and make a nice dinner for me and my family. New Years, is still open, but probably stay home with the dogs, they are scared of the midnight noises.
